ii) Access Point Mode
When in the Access Point mode, the extender will act as a WiFi hotspot for various devices present in your house. But, you must connect the extender and host gateway using a cable in this case.
iii) Router Mode
This mode is of great assistance for those users who do not have WiFi routers in their homes and wish to set their repeaters with internet modems. The connection source suggested for Wavlink N300 WiFi repeater setup in this operating mode is a wired one.
Now that you’ve learned about various operating modes of your range extender, it is time to move to the instructions that will help you set up your WiFi device by accessing the Wavlink login portal.
Wavlink N300 WiFi Repeater Setup [Steps]
i) Choose the Operating Mode
Right after unboxing your N300 wireless repeater, you are required to connect it to a wall outlet near the main gateway and press the Power button. Consider waiting for LEDs to settle. After that, you need to toggle the Mode Selector button on the extender to the Repeater/ Access Point/ Router position depending upon your requirements.
ii) Connect Your Devices
The second step involved in the setup process is to create a connection between your host gateway and repeater. Therefore, put the suggested connection to use [as per the operating mode chosen by you]. But, you need to make sure that in case of a wireless connection, your devices must be close to each other. If you’ve connected them using a cable, the connection must be made using a non-damaged cable only.
iii) Run an Internet Browser
The moment you create a successful connection between your devices, you are suggested to switch on your computer and run an internet browser. You are free to put any web browser to use. However, remember to wipe out the cache and cookies before proceeding further with the Wavlink N300 WiFi repeater setup. Also, check for updates and install the latest software version of the web browser if available.
